Straight answer

Who NCVC is worth it for

Reasons to go

  • You practice in North Carolina or a neighboring state. NCVC is run by NC State's veterinary college and the state VMA, so the content tracks North Carolina practice realities, and CE is approved in 45 states.
  • You want breadth without the travel. Small animal, equine, ruminant, practice management, animal welfare, public practice, swine and two vet tech tracks all run under one roof in a drivable city.
  • You are a recent graduate. 2026 DVM graduates attend free, and 2023 through 2025 graduates pay $325, less than a one day pass for a general attendee.
  • You are sending technicians. The technician and assistant rate is $275 for three days, roughly $12.50 per claimable CE hour.

Reasons to wait for VMX or WVC instead

  • You need more than 22 hours. VMX 2027 caps at 43.5 in person, or 51 on VMX Virtual.
  • You are shopping equipment. VMX runs 800 or more exhibitors. NCVC lists 83.
