WVC Las Vegas is dated, priced and open for registration. The Viticus Group has published no hotel block rates and no block close date.

There is no virtual badge, no livestream and no recording sold afterwards, so when two sessions you want run in the same hour, you attend one of them. VMX sells a separate virtual badge for $295 and keeps it open to March 21. Sessions are also first come, first served, and the Viticus Group states that seating is not guaranteed.

The evening program is published further ahead than most. Song Division opens on the Sunday, Dr Kwane Stewart takes the main stage on Monday March 1, and Jason Derulo plays the Mandalay Bay Ballroom on Tuesday March 2. A conference badge covers all three and there is no separate ticket. The Tuesday act runs after the expo hall has closed.

The number that matters

How many WVC 2027 CE hours can one person claim?

The Viticus Group advertises 900 or more RACE approved CE hours on its education page. That figure is the size of the program, which runs many tracks at once in one building over four days. The Viticus Group publishes no ceiling on what a single attendee can put on a renewal. The NAVC publishes one for VMX, at 43.5 hours.

The grid on the published program list sets the practical limit: four conference days, one session at a time, with the exhibit hall and the general sessions taking time out of each day. VMX reaches 43.5 hours across five days. WVC runs four, and hours beyond the lecture program come from labs, which are bought separately.

Tracking is self service. Session rooms carry passive badge readers, your attendance appears in My Record within 24 hours, and you can also tick sessions off by hand in the same tool. From there you print a CE certificate or a record of sessions. Check that record before you fly home, because a reader that missed your badge is easier to correct on site than afterwards.

Retired veterinarians and general participants get a no CE badge. Two of the ten roles on the $279 discounted rate are sold without continuing education attached, which is the category for an office manager or a spouse who only needs the exhibit hall. What the price table leaves out

• Residents and interns pay the full veterinarian rate. The Viticus Group states that a DVM graduate completing a residency or internship registers as a veterinarian, and that student registration does not apply to them. A newly qualified vet in their first year out does get the $279 rate.
• The group threshold is 50 passes. A practice sending four people has no discount to find here, where VMX starts its group bands at six. The 50 pass package is priced for corporate groups.
• Group packages are tied to one city. The Viticus Group confirms that passes bought for Vegas cannot be split with Nashville, and the packages are non-refundable, so an unused pass is a sunk one.
• The discount comes as a flash sale with no dated early rate behind it. The 2027 flash prices of $229 and $99 had sold out by September 2026, so the published prices are the ones on offer.
• Everyone holding a badge has to be 18 or over, including guests. There are no guest badges sold on their own, so a spouse who wants to walk the exhibit hall registers as a general participant.
• Labs and workshops sit outside the badge entirely. Each carries its own fee on top of registration, and they are covered in the next section.

Hands-on labs

WVC 2027 lab prices and schedule

Labs are priced and capped separately from the badge. The Viticus Group owns the teaching facilities, so labs run at the Oquendo Center on East Oquendo Road and the Eastern Center on South Eastern Avenue, about ten minutes from Mandalay Bay, with a free shuttle from the Shark Reef entrance. The Eastern Center fits 40 to 50 lab stations in one clinical room.

Labs run in half day blocks at 7:30am and 1:30pm and full days from 7:30am to 4:30pm, and they start on Saturday February 27, the day before the conference opens. A flight that lands Sunday morning for the Sunday start has already missed both Saturday seatings.

The $399 badge plus one full day orthopedic lab is $1,619 before a flight or a room. Half day labs on the list published so far run from $320 to $975, and one full day surgical lab had already sold out and opened a waitlist by September 2026. If a specific lab is the reason you are going, book it when you register.

Workshops are a separate product from labs. They run on site at Mandalay Bay in the Oceanside rooms on Level 2, last about two hours, and carry their own fee and their own cap. The workshop list and the hands-on lab list are published separately, and only the labs involve a shuttle.

Refunds

WVC 2027 lab refund dates

WVC publishes no early bird end date and no hotel block close date. It does publish a refund schedule for labs, written against the course start date. For the Saturday February 27 lab day it falls like this.

On a $1,220 orthopedic lab, canceling on 27 January returns $610 and canceling on 28 January returns none of it. Lab registrations are also non-transferable, so a colleague cannot take your seat and the fee cannot be moved to another course. A lab booked in December and canceled on or before 28 December costs $75 in processing.

Hotels and flights

Maritz is the official housing provider for WVC Vegas 2027, and the Viticus Group warns that reservations offered by anyone else may be illegitimate or non-refundable. No block rates and no block close date were published as of September 2026.

Airline discounts are live. Delta takes meeting event code NY4UC, United takes ZSKH325261, and the Southwest fare window runs February 24 to March 6, 2027. That window covers a Saturday lab day at the front and a Friday at the back.

The August meeting

WVC Nashville 2027 dates and what 2026 looked like

WVC Nashville 2027 runs August 21 to 24 at the Music City Center. That is the only 2027 figure the Viticus Group has published. Registration is not open, there is no price list, no CE total and no lab list, and the page carries an email alert form in place of a register button.

The inaugural WVC Nashville ran August 15 to 18, 2026 and drew more than 8,800 people against an expectation of 7,000, with over 60 per cent attending a WVC meeting for the first time. It published 400 or more CE hours, 15 or more hands-on labs and 300 or more exhibitors. Set against 900 hours and 55 labs in Vegas, that is roughly half the size.

Group passes are sold per city, so a company package bought for Vegas cannot be carried across in August.

Who WVC Las Vegas is worth it for

WVC is the second largest general veterinary meeting in the country and the largest hands-on one.

Reasons to go to WVC

• You learn with your hands. 55 or more labs at the organizer's own education centers is the largest wet lab program at any general veterinary meeting, and it is taught in rooms fitted for it.
• You are a student, or you are bringing one. DVM students, technician students in AVMA accredited programs and active military all register free, which is rare at a meeting this size.
• You want one building. Mandalay Bay holds the sessions, the exhibit hall and the evening events, and the only travel inside the week is the shuttle to a lab.
• Late February works better for your practice than mid January. Coming back from the holidays into a week away has to be made up somewhere, and WVC is six weeks after VMX.

Reasons to go to VMX instead

• You need hours more than skills. VMX 2027 publishes a 43.5 hour in person ceiling and sells a 51 hour virtual badge for $295. WVC publishes neither a per attendee figure nor any remote option, so you assemble your hours at WVC and cannot check the total before booking.
• You cannot leave the practice at all. There is no WVC at home and no video afterwards.
• You are sending four people. VMX group discounts start at six people and WVC group pricing starts at 50 passes, so four people pay full price at both and only VMX has a band within reach.

Reasons to go to neither

• You are two hours short before a renewal. A state or regional VMA meeting closes that gap for a fraction of the cost per claimable hour, and you sleep at home.

WVC costs more at the door, gives students and active military a free badge, and runs 55 or more hands-on labs. What changed between WVC 2026 and WVC 2027

The format carried over. Four days in Las Vegas, labs offsite at the two education centers, in person only, priced by role.

• Las Vegas shifted almost two weeks later. WVC 2026, also listed as the Western Veterinary Conference 2026, ran February 15 to 18. WVC Vegas 2027 runs February 28 to March 3, which pushes the lab day into the last Saturday of February and the closing day into March.
• Nashville moved too, from August 15 to 18, 2026 to August 21 to 24, 2027, and stopped being the inaugural year.
• The theme for 2027 is United in Purpose. The program structure behind it is unchanged, with labs, workshops, learning tracks, side quests and exhibit hall CE all returning.
• The 2027 lab and workshop lists went on sale early, in the summer of 2026, and at least one full day surgical lab had sold out by September.
• The opening discount came as flash sales at $229 and $99, both gone by September 2026, with no dated early bird behind them.

The charting does not take the week off.
